Diane,
I'm pleased that you feel welcome here. Sometimes I wonder if I should add those personal snippets but I find it difficult not to so It's good to know you think they add richness. Comparing notes about photography would be great, I'm definitely a newbie when it comes to that as well!

Sue,
It wasn't until after I put that picture in my post that I realized I could relate it to blogging. I'm just trying to find a way to use my own photos instead of searching creative commons. I'm the nature photographer in the family. My husband is the sports photographer, so I have to give him credit for the picture of my daughter playing lacrosse. I agree that Sue Waters is a wonderful resource through her blog and on Twitter as well. Now, I have a question for you. How do I put a link in a comment like you did with Sue Water's name?

John,
Thanks for stopping by and for contacting me after NYSCATE, it's nice to keep that connection going. NYSCATE was definitely a turning point in my life this year. I wonder how long/what it will take to quit feeling like a newbie?

I would agree with Sue, your comparison using the blue jay was fantastic. Although I have been blogging for about 2 years I still very much a newbie. I don't know, I think there is a cycle that we bloggers have to go through and part of that is to "find our voice."

I have always enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to my Google Reader letting me know there is a new article that's ready. Keep on keepin' on.

I love the way you related the jay feeding to the way you are with blogging. Persistence is the key as I say to my students; keep trying. I am also a newbie since January this year and find visiting other blogs especially those who comment with Sue Waters and The Edublogger. Sue has so many hints to use for new bloggers and ways to read blogs more efficiently.

I feel very welcome here! Your voice is warm and conversational and your reflections are insightful. I also appreciate the snippets you share of your life outside of school. They add richness. That's something I should consider doing.

BTW I've set myself a learning goal that although related to my work is more personal than professional. That goal is to become a better photographer. Maybe we should compare notes!
